An East High School student is dead and a second suspect is in custody after a shooting at a middle school in suburban Pittsburgh.
Police said the shooting happened in the 300 block of East Seventh Street just after 3 p.m.
Monday.
The shooting happened inside a residence, according to Pittsburgh Police.
Police did not release the names of the suspects.
A police source said the suspect was a male and the victim was a female.
The source said they were acquaintances.
Neighbors told NBC10 the shooting was “completely senseless.”
“We don’t even know what happened, it’s just terrible,” said neighbor Eric Jones.
“You just feel horrible for the whole neighborhood.”
Authorities said the incident happened outside of a residence.
The school’s website says it is a middle-school campus and it is the home of two elementary schools.
